How can I tell if my DVD Player is compatible with the DVD-R Format?
There is a possiblity that your DVD player system was manufactured prior to the year 2000 or is based on technology prior to the year 2000. The current technology 2000 and after is compatible on 90% of the DVD players. If you order a DVD and upon playing it in your system you encounter digital breakups, freeze frames or skipping, you probably have a system that is based on the older technology. If you experience this problem please try playing it on a computer that has a DVD player installed. Be sure it is a DVD player and not a CD player. They look alike but a CD player will not play a DVD. Or try playing it on a player that you know is DVD-R compatible. Then and only then if you are still experiencing these problems should you return the DVD to us. There is always a slight chance that the DVD was manufactured with errors or the burn simply was bad. We would like to avoid having to return a DVD to you that works without error in our systems but not in your system due to incompatibility of your system. Any DVD exchanges must be made within 30 days from date of shipment. To further explain this incompatibility situation. The DVD's you purchase or rent through rental stores are pressed copies and therefore should not be encountering these problems. Memory Lane Videos "burns" the copies of DVD's one at a time through our computer system. The difference in production provides the same quality product. "Burning" the DVD images is less expensive then pressing. Pressing costs range in the thousands of dollars and require a minimum order. We have learned that if your DVD player is compatible with playing DVD-R there should be no problems. This information provided to you is not to discourage you from purchasing a DVD of this program. It is simply provided to allow an understanding that there is the chance you may encounter a problem. Memory Lane Videos, Inc. makes no gurantee as to the compatibility of your DVD player with our DVD.
